Overview
When a Trainee Assessor becomes a Qualified Assessor, their existing Onefile account can be updated rather than creating a new one. This ensures the Assessor keeps all their assigned learners, existing tasks, and login credentials without disruption.

Centre Settings
No additional centre settings are required to promote a Trainee Assessor.
Steps to Promote a Trainee Assessor
Step 1: Access the User Account
- Click Users in the navigation bar.
- Search for the Trainee Assessor.
- Click Account beside their name.
Step 2: Remove the Countersigner Requirement
- Click the Linked Accounts tab.
- Change the Select a countersigner dropdown to Do not use a countersigner.
- Click Save.
Once saved, the account will no longer be treated as a Trainee Assessor. Any new assessments completed from this point will no longer require a countersigner’s signature.
Pending Tasks
- Any existing tasks awaiting a countersigner’s approval can be unlocked to the newly promoted Assessor.
- This will remove the requirement for countersignature and allow the Assessor to complete the task directly.
✅ Tip: Review pending tasks after promotion to ensure no assessments remain stuck waiting for a countersigner.
