Creating a sampling plan in single mode

Overview

Internal Quality Assurers (IQAs) can use Single Mode to create detailed sampling plans for individual learners and units. This allows IQAs to plan sampling activity, record planned methods, and set reminders for upcoming work.

Steps

How to Create a Sampling Plan in Single Mode

  1. Click Unit Sampling from the left-hand navigation bar.
  2. Use the filters to display the required learners and their assigned units.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Select Single‑Mode within the Learner Selection section.
  5. Under Planned Activity, tick Show planned completion date (PCD).
  6. Click the PCD field for the unit you intend to sample.
  7. Tick the checkboxes for the Assessment Methods you plan to sample.
  8. Tick the Planned Processes you follow (these are created by the Centre Manager).
  9. Tick the Task Reminder checkbox if you want to set a reminder.
  10. Select the Planned Sample Date from the date picker.
  11. Enter any Additional Comments (optional).
  12. Click Save.

What Happens Next?

Once you have saved your sampling plan:

  • Your planned activity will appear within the Sampling Table.
  • Planned assessment methods will display as coloured boxes for the relevant unit.
  • Task reminders (if selected) will be added to your task list.

Tips & Notes

  • Ensure your Centre Manager has set up Planned Processes before using Single Mode.
  • Use Single Mode when you need detailed sampling for a specific learner or unit.
  • Use Batch Mode if planning sampling across multiple learners at once.
