Creating Assessment Templates

Overview

Assessment Templates allow Centres and Assessors to create reusable assessment structures that can be assigned to individual learners or across multiple plans. Follow the steps below to create a new template.

Who Can Use This Feature?

This feature can be used by the following user roles:

  • Centre Manager
  • Assessor and Trainee Assessor

Centre Settings

Allow assessment templates must be enabled.

How to Create an Assessment Template

1. Accessing Assessment Templates

  • Centre Managers:
    Click Quality in the navigation menu.
  • Assessors:
    Go to Forms & Templates on your homepage and select Assessment Templates.

2. Create a New Template

  • Click Assessment Templates
  • Then click:
    • Create New Centre Template (Centre Managers), or
    • Create New Assessment Template (Assessors)

3. Enter Template Details

  1. Template Name – the internal name for the template
  2. Assessment Title – this will appear on the learner’s portfolio once assigned
  3. Task Details – these instructions will be visible to the user when completing the assessment
  4. Select the Primary Assessment Method

4. Add Criteria

  1. Click Set Criteria
  2. Select the learning aim and unit you want to link
  3. Click Add Selected
  4. To view all criteria, click Expand/Collapse All
  5. Select the criteria you wish to include
  6. Click Save

5. Add Evidence and Feedback (Optional)

  • Add any required evidence guidance or feedback fields
  • Click Save

How Assessors Can Use Assessment Templates

Assessment Templates can be used in the following ways:

  • Assign to a single learner or multiple learners
  • Link as a task within an individual learner’s plan
  • Link as a task within a Plan Template
