Resetting the password for another user

Overview

Since the rollout of the Onefile Keychain (01 May 2024), users should reset their own passwords via the Password Reset page whenever possible.
However, Centre Managers can reset passwords for other users (e.g., Tutors or Learners) if needed.


Steps to Reset Another User’s Password

  1. Click Users in the navigation menu.
  2. Locate the account of the user you want to reset.
  3. Click Account next to their name.
  4. Scroll to the Login Details section.
  5. Click Reset Password.

ℹ️Important Notes

  • The Reset Password option will only appear if the user has previously logged in and verified their email address. 
  • If the button does not appear:
    • Enter the user’s email address via the Password Reset page.
    • This will send an email from passwordreminder@onefile.co.uk.
    • The reset link will expire 1 hour after being generated.

Tip: Encourage users to use the Password Reset page for faster resolution and security.
