The Difference Between Assessment Templates and Plan Templates

Overview

Onefile Eportfolio provides two powerful tools to support structured delivery and learner progress: Assessment Templates and Plan Templates. Although both can be created for individual learners and reused across cohorts, they serve different purposes within the learning and assessment journey.

What Are Plans?

Plans are used to outline multiple tasks—both learning and assessment‑related—that need to be completed by the Learner, Assessor, or Employer.

  • Created for individual learners
  • Used for planning multiple tasks
  • Can include learning activities and assessment tasks

Plan Templates

Plan Templates allow you to:

  • Create a reusable plan structure
  • Send the same plan to multiple learners
  • Save time by standardising planning across groups or cohorts

What Are Assessments?

Assessments are used to record evidence of learning, align activities with Learning Aims, and capture assessor feedback.

  • Capture evidence of learning
  • Align tasks with specific learning aims and criteria
  • Include assessor feedback and signatures

Assessment Templates

Assessment Templates allow you to:

  • Create a reusable assessment structure
  • Send the same assessment to multiple learners
  • Ensure consistency in evidence collection and assessor feedback
