The Difference Between Assessment Templates and Plan Templates

Overview

OneFile offers two key features to support learner progress:

  • Plans
  • Assessments

While both are created for individual learners, they serve different purposes and can be templated for reuse.

What Are Plans?

Plans are used to outline multiple tasks—both learning and assessment-related—that need to be completed by the Learner, Assessor, or Employer.

  • Created for individual learners
  • Used for planning multiple tasks
  • Can include learning activities and assessments

Plan Templates

Plan Templates allow you to:

  • Create a reusable plan structure
  • Send the same plan to multiple learners
  • Save time by standardizing planning across cohorts

What Are Assessments?

Assessments are used to:

  • Capture evidence of learning
  • Align tasks with specific Learning Aims
  • Record feedback from assessors

Assessment Templates

Assessment Templates allow you to:

  • Create a reusable assessment structure
  • Send the same assessment to multiple learners
  • Ensure consistency in evidence collection and feedback
