Sharing Courses

Overview

Courses created in the Onefile can be shared with other centres or training providers using a unique share code. This allows you to reuse course content across organisations without recreating it from scratch.

Who Can Use This Feature?

  • Centre Manager
  • Assessor (with permission)

Permissions

  • VLE Tutor

Centre Settings

No additional centre settings are required to share or import Courses.


How to Share a Course

Step 1: Open the Course

  • Click Courses in the navigation bar.
  • Click the Course you want to share.

Step 2: Generate the Share Code

  • Click the Share (arrow) icon in the top‑right corner.
  • The Share Course pop‑up will appear.
  • Click Copy next to your share code.
  • Click Done.

You can now share this code with another centre or training provider.


How to Import a Shared Course

Step 1: Access the Courses Area

  • Log into the centre where you want to import the Course.
  • Click Courses in the navigation bar.

Step 2: Import the Course

  • Click Import.
  • Paste the share code.
  • Click Next to view an overview of the Course.
  • Click Next again.
  • Click Go to Course.

Imported Courses

  • The Course can now be edited or published before assigning it to learners.
  • Courses created in the Practice area cannot be shared to the Live area (and vice‑versa).
  • Only published Courses can be shared.

✅ Tip: Always publish a Course before trying to share it — unpublished versions cannot generate a share code.
