Overview
You can embed external content such as Google Docs, Microsoft 365 (OneDrive and SharePoint) files, Sketchfab models, and H5P content into your OneFile courses. This allows learners to access interactive and dynamic resources directly within the course.
Supported Content Types
- Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, and Forms
- Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Stream, Sway, Forms)
- Sketchfab models
- H5P content
To embed Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Drawings:
- Open the file.
- Click File > Publish to the web.
- Select the Embed option.
- Choose file type options (e.g., slide size for Slides).
- Copy the embed code.
- Click Publish.
- Paste the embed code into the Place URL here text box in OneFile.
ℹ️ Note: Google Drawings will appear as an attached .png file within the course page.
For Google Forms:
Open the form.
Click Send at the top of the page.
Select the Embed option.
Copy the Embed HTML code.

How to manage sharing permissions in OneDrive and SharePoint
As a global admin or SharePoint admin in Microsoft 365, you can control how sharing works at the organization level in OneDrive and SharePoint Online. Because each OneDrive is a site (previously called "site collection") within SharePoint, your organization's SharePoint settings and OneDrive settings are related
How to manage sharing in the new SharePoint admin centre
- Sign into Microsoft 365 as a global or SharePoint admin
- If you see a message that you don't have permission to access the page, you don't have Microsoft 365 administrator permissions in your organization
- In the left panel, under Admin centres, select SharePoint
- You might need to select Show all to see the list of admin centres
- If the classic SharePoint admin centre appears, click Open
- In the left pane of the new SharePoint admin centre, under Policies, click Sharing

Embed a file in a courseSave the file to OneDrive.com (public folder, not personal).
Open the file in the Microsoft 365 web app.
Click File > Share > Embed.
Click Generate to create the embed code.
Copy the code and paste it directly into the Place URL here field in Onefile.
✅ Do not copy via third-party tools like Notepad, as this can break formatting.

✅ Tip: Always ensure files are stored in public or shareable folders to allow embedding.
