Assessment Method Settings
| Assessment Method Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Assessment Answer Type | Normal: Evidence can be holistic or per‑criteria. Written Questions: Assessor selects question bank from a Plan. Typed Oral Questions: Assessor types both the question and the learner’s response. |
| Support Method Only (non‑Assessment) | Displays at the top of an assessment to show how the learner was supported. Does not count as an assessment. |
| Learner Can Start | Allows learners to start assessments using this method and upload evidence. Leave unticked if only Assessors should start it. |
| New Class Inherits | Automatically selects this method for all newly created classes. |
| Override Criteria | Allows criteria to reach 100% without meeting the Consistency Rule requirement. Useful for methods such as professional discussion or holistic assessment. |
| Expert / Witness | Adds an Expert/Witness dropdown at the top of the assessment. Experts and witnesses can be created within the learner’s Manage tab. |
| Employer Must Sign Before Assessor | Sends a signing task to the learner's Default Employer before the Assessor signs. Not applicable to assessor‑started assessments. |
| Is Off‑The‑Job | Automatically flags assessments as Off‑The‑Job. Applies to assessments created after the setting is enabled, including API and mobile app assessments. |
| IV Sampling Colour | Used to visually distinguish methods on the IV Sampling Table. |
New Methods
Newly created Assessment Methods must be assigned to the Class before they can be used. This ensures they appear as options when creating assessments.
Tips & Notes
- Use consistent naming conventions so methods are easy to identify.
- Review which methods are inherited by new classes to streamline delivery.
- Only enable Override Criteria where appropriate for your Centre’s quality policy.
