What are the dotted lines around the assessment?

Overview

If you see an assessment reference displayed with dotted lines in the Supporting Evidence column of the Learner’s Progress section or within the Gap Analysis, this indicates that some mapped criteria were not accepted by the Assessor before the assessment was signed off.

How to Identify Unaccepted Criteria

  • Open the assessment and review the criteria list.
  • Criteria that were accepted will display in a solid colour.
  • Criteria that were not accepted will appear dull or faded.

Why This Happens

Dotted lines appear when:

  • The Assessor mapped criteria to an assessment.
  • Some of those criteria were intentionally or accidentally left unaccepted before signing off.

How to Fix This

If the unaccepted criteria should have been accepted, follow the steps below:

  1. The Centre Manager (or approved role) must unlock the assessment back to the Assessor.
  2. The Assessor then:
    • Opens the assessment,
    • Accepts any required criteria,
    • Signs off the assessment again.

Once the assessment is re-signed with all criteria accepted, the dotted lines will no longer appear.

Tips & Notes

  • Dotted lines are a visual indicator of incomplete acceptance, not an error.
  • Always check criteria acceptance before signing off to prevent rework.
  • This behaviour appears consistently in both Progress and Gap Analysis views.
